how about a Catholic who believed in the fallibility of the present Pope, though Catholic dogma says otherwise?
they have chose to stretch belief and, in effect, believe a thing because it gives them spiritual and emotional sustenance while disavowing the literal truth of it.
he has said that he deliberately chose an absurd deity later exposed as a fraud.
AM has decided to do this consciously and to extend his belief a bit farther than what others have. because he practices magick, rather than religion. in magick of the postmodern variety you can deliberately change belief as a practice in of itself. it has to transcending belief and getting into metabelief.

What totally fascinates me about Moore is his ability to make a very reasonable and compelling case in favor of all these decisions when you ask him. I've seen him talk about the snake god thing on TV. Absolutely agreeable and compelling.
