Interesting article, Jay. When they first mentioned the sleeves off the shoulders I thought they were talking about Ragland sleeves (may not have spelled this right - not sure I've ever seen it written), but they aren't - the seam is actually down the arm. My current American placed western is set in the late 1870s, so, although I have been Googling about for period clothing (and gun) sites, a resource like yours might could be very useful.
