I was thinking (uh oh) that with all the affiliate programs available these days, a large group of writers could help each others by adding affiliate links to their websites, along with reviews and such.

Sort of an "Affiliated Writers Club" situation.

For example, if you had three books published on various retailer websites, I could list the books on my own site with affiliate links. And you could do the same for me.

The advantage to this would be link-backs from related websites...which is something the new google update measures.

I guess it would be almost like a banner exchange, but because affiliate links and reviews are provided, the pages have more content and potential for profit for each website.

This is something I was only thinking about in the last hour or so, so it is clearly not thought through.

Would love constructive input on possible ways to improve hte idea and make it work.

I imagine a list of interested parties might eventually be needed.

Pete, as far as I'm aware, the most recent Google formula doesn't use backlinks in the same way that it did last year. I haven't read up on it since earlier this year, so I may be wrong.

Unfortunately, because we all work so hard to brand ourselves, I don't think many writers would go for this. Speaking for myself personally, I wouldn't want to clutter my page with work that isn't my own. But this is just me. Other authors may feel differently.
