quick summary:


My protagonist, 16-year old Alex, is a “biological immortals.” She’s addicted to “topping off,” which is suicide to get high. One of the side effects of topping off is massive memory loss. So Alex doesn’t remember much about her past, including the fact that she was kidnapped and “murdered” two years prior by a serial killer called The Gravedigger.

The story follows her efforts to get clean and assist in the investigation, all the while attempting the outrun the killer, avoid her violently possessive ex-boyfriend and hide her immortality from a well-meaning (but persistent) homicide detective.

This is just the first half. There's some language, violence,sexual content and drug use. It reads more contemporary than a thriller or murder mystery. It's been through a few runs, so it's pretty clean and it's an easy read. Mostly I want reader impressions instead of detailed line critiques.

More than anything, I need someone who reads fairly fast. Preferably no more than 5 days.
