This book really blows me away. Not because of anything that's contained in the book, but because that the story is a romance between high school students and yet I'm still interested in it. Normally, this genre is the type that I would never pick up and never feel as though I missed out anything. There's something about it though, the voice and the style of storytelling that I just like so much. The last ten pages of the book I must've read a hundred times just because there was something transcendental about it, where I was no longer reading a story but vicariously experiencing a fictional situation that the author had created for me.
I'm fully aware that what I just said is probably the campiest, most tacky thing I've ever written, but the fact of the matter is it's true, and what's most amazing is that it's true of a book of one of my least favorite genres.
Who else has a book like this? One that you wouldn't ever expect to enjoy, let alone even be able to finish, yet it still grabbed you somehow?
