As a poet, I believe quotes hold their own in the field of poetry. They have an internal rhythm, a sense of beauty and often a tremendous sense of power. With that thought, I started this thread to give us an opportunity to express our own quotes, coming from our own personal thoughts and beliefs. Hopefully, they will inspire, cause us to think and maybe just give us a much needed good laugh for the day!

If I'm in the wrong spot, mod me Scotty, to where I need to be!

Are they meant to be from poems?

If not, I offer this bit of wisdom (one of many) from my guitar tutor:

Don't confuse 'soft' with 'weak'.

Yeah! Quotes!

Thanks, guys/girls.

What I'm really hoping is that we all think, think, think and come up with our own superdedooper spectacular profound words that others will want to jot down and carry with them so that they can someday speak the very same with great esteem. (you know what I mean.)

I'm still thinking to come up with my very own profound quote of the day.....

If you think it is art, it is art. If you think it is a poem, it is a poem. Folk can argue forever about how good it is, but without a definition that satisfies all, it is still art, still a poem.

I love this quote from Victor Hugo's Les Miserables. When Marius first gets up the nerve to speak to Cosette, he goes on and on, but this pretty much sums up his feelings.
"... My heart is bursting, I could not live as I was, I have come."

I can't understand why they call me homophobic -- after all, some of my best lovers are gay.

Oops, you wanted our own quotes. Deleted the one I put of another writer, and will have to think.

Everywhere else that June, everything was coming up roses. For me, the roses were black.

I like quotes,
e.g.
'Failure is not an option.' from the movie Apollo 13.

I like to add my own personal touch....'it's a way of life.' which sounds to me very Homer Simpson-ish, a character with whom I have great empathy ...

One more of my own, if you'll permit me....

A second can be a New York second or a Texas second, the first one happened yesterday and the other can take as long as it wants.
