So, I downloaded a free trial version of Storyist. This is the first software geared for novel writers that I have ever used, and I love it! I can add images for reference, I can make notes and see them as I work on the manuscript, I can have detailed character and setting description up and include photos and quick notes on these topics. The manuscript is organized into chapters, with a running heading, it allows me to set word goals per setting, per week, per month, etc.

So, is there a catch that I'm not aware of? I'm smitten, but is there a reason not to pay $70 when the trial version expires for me?

There are other programs out there. Some cost significantly more. Some are free.

Does it work for you? Is it enough of a value to you? Have you done an online search yet to see what troubles others have had with the program? If so, can you live with whatever shortcomings someone else may have felt?

"Scriptor Caveo" or "Caveat Scriptor".

It's a tool. If this hammer fits your hand, and you don't feel any buyers remorse about the price, that's all that really matters. Rock on.
