I'm drafting a sub packet for a short story that didn't quite go the way I expected. It was originally going to be a menage, but I'm not sure it really qualifies now. Instead of 3-way sex, the husband first has sex with the wife, then watches the other man as he has sex with the wife. There is no romantic element.

So, what do you think? Menage? Voyeurism and exhibitionism? Something else completely?

Technically, it's cuckolding. Sometimes referred to as a "hot wife" story.

I'd call it 'multi-partner'.

It could be a 'tag-team' menage if the men are taking turns, so to speak. Cuckold refers to a man who's wife is having an affair. Cuckolding can also mean a dominant woman forcing him to watch her have sex with another man.

For what it's worth, if you're submitting it to a publisher with a female audience, I think I'd call it menage anyway. The definition suits on loose terms and it's more familiar.

If you say menage, readers will expect every party to, er...bang every other party. I'm sure there's a more demure way of phrasing that, but hey, we're in Erotica...

Anyway, like I said, I think multi-partner is the way to go.

Okay, I'm getting a lesson in cuckolding, too. LOL. The term has changed muchly over the years.

On menage, if it is m/f/m the everyone with everyone rule is moot... but I would think readers would expect everyone to be hands-on at once.

Leaning toward the multi-partner.

And this is going to my existing editor at EC if that makes a difference.

Candalagnia - an erotic interest in watching your spouse have sexual relations with another person, with permission.

Troilism - the erotic interest in watching one's romantic partner engage in sexual behavior with a third party with permission.

Mixophilia - Also called passive scopophilia. the deriving of sexual pleasure from viewing nude bodies, sexual acts, erotic photographs or there own person. Not necessarily during a 'live' or real time event.

Mizoscopia - Arousal from seeing others engage in coitus, again usually with permission.

Voyeurism - a person who derives sexual pleasure from forbidden looking. Typically hidden and in relation to a real time event.

Quick update on this one. The story is subbed and contracted and my editor called it a menage. No release date yet, but most likely in February or March with EC's Exotika line.

I gotta say, I've not seen any of the first four terms in an erotic story, and I guess I'm not about to try.

Thanks! Isn't Grace great? I almost hate to sub elsewhere because I'd rather work with Grace. Right now I'm on pins and needles waiting for her to get through that list of edits.

I suspected it could go menage but given it wasn't an actual menage I wasn't sure. I try to get the information in the sub packet as accurate as possible with the understanding the editor may make adjustments for marketing.
