War Stories by Garth Ennis. It's two volumes and honestly, the best modern storytelling of WW2 material I've read in a very long time. Ennis loves this time in history and is also a top notch comic writer.

i second the recommendation of the excellent War Stories by Garth Ennis from Vertigo Comics. They are well written, researched and illustrated. Just be aware the language and depictions of war are explicit and for adults.

Hi, Gwendy...well, for what they're worth, here are a couple of observations...
The artwork is extremely effective...it's very professional looking and has a lot of personality.
Same goes for the composition, although I might suggest for the sake of story-telling to go more in the direction of panel-by-panel continuity rather than splash pages.
The cover images, although beautifully rendered, do not convey the setting or the time. I'd suggest putting visuals in there that suggests the period and the conflict, even if it's just some Japanese Zeroes flying overhead.
Also...I think this project deserves its own dedicated web-site.
Deviant Art isn't really friendly to casual browsers...your pages took a long time to load and I kept getting redirected to membership sign-up forms.
In my opinion, you should be able place this project with a publisher...visually, it's excellent and is has a unique perspective on a little-known aspect of WWII.
But I think you should set up a better online presentation.

And I guess when it comes to one's own work, you have to let other eyes see it otherwise you won't be able to find an improvement.I must say I didn't realize that I need to do more with the cover.
As for the website, it's still in the planning stages. I know a bit of HTML but I want to get it into wordpress...which I am actually still learning to use.

And on that note, would having a website for my work give it more chances with a publisher? And I'm still a bit new to the graphic novel genre, so you think it would be better to go directly to a publisher or go through a literary agent? I think my chances will slim down with the fact that I live in East Asia Thanks again Axler! ^_^

I think if you showcase the art on its own site, even if it's Wordpress, you can query agents and publishers and direct them to the site so they can not see the art but get the background information about.
I doubt your geographical location will harm your chances...if anything, it might boost the overall credibility of your work, since an editor or agent will think you're suited to tell this particular story.
