I have just finished reading Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin.

Is it my imagination or is this book just an mixture of The Oxford Medieval History, the Iliad, and the History of Priscus of Panium?

I wouldn't say I love the books, buy I'd have to disagree with you and say Game of Thrones is fairly original.
