To all the people who told me Word 2010 was better than my old Word 2000, and there was no need to keep the old one--you were absolutely right; thank you very much.
But what the devil was Microsoft thinking when they put together the Help files? I used to use those! The new ones are totally useless, as far as I can tell. Searches don't bring up anything useful; reading articles is a waste of time--sheesh!

Microsoft Word 2003 > Word 2010 IMHO.
I understand on an economics stand point why Microsoft wants to offer a new Office product every few years, but if they do they I think it should be an improvement. Personally, I hate the new Word. I bought it, then switched back to 2003 in a matter of days.

Absolutely agree. Google and Youtube are your friend. Tutorials abound on Youtube. (You might be learning from a 12 year old, but hey, they've got the time to figure this stuff out. :) )

I used the beta version of Office 2010 for a while, and it spoiled me. Still, every time I have to deal with 2003 (someone else's) I'm glad I have 2007. But any time, I'm thankful for the Internet and all the experts who take the time to give us so many awesome pages of Word (and other) tips and tutorials.

I find the online tutorials on the MS website to be very helpful. One of them details every difference between 2003 and 2010.
Word 2007 and 2010 take some getting used to, but I find both infinitely superior to 2003, once you learn the new UI.

Florida Gulf Coast University has some outstanding Office 2007 tutuorials, available online here. (http://www.fgcu.edu/support/office2007/) Alas, no 2010 yet.

Oddly, this just came up in a meeting, too.
Here's a potentially useful link (http://office2010.microsoft.com/en-us/word-help/learn-where-menu-and-toolbar-commands-are-in-office-2010-HA101794130.aspx) from MS.
ETA: And this one (http://www.gcflearnfree.org/office2010) I know nothing about, other than it good a recommendation from a fellow education geek.
