Yeah, I did. Needed to compatibility-test stuff for work.

Windows 8 is... interesting. There's some really cool bits in the Metro setup, and I can see how that would be nice on a tablet. But right now, the fact that it flips you between Metro and Aero feels... schizophrenic, somehow. That worries me; I hope the final builds don't.

Got it installed in VMWare now. Hmm, yeah, schizophrenic. And the mouse interaction is awkward. Particularly since I have a multi-touch trackpad and none of my OS X gestures work in the Win 8 DP. Hopefully they'll fix that, but I'm not sure how many desktop PC users have multitouch. I wish I could try it with my fingers, but no touchscreen here. The split screen thing when I tried it felt more awkward than useful, but it seems like a good idea. You probably just need to get used to it. It looks like it'll be a decent tablet OS with metro, but I'm not convinced on it as a desktop OS.

I just keep using the operating system my computer has installed on it, unless I have to buy a new hard drive, and I don't have an operating system to install on the new hard drive because I don't have the money for it, and then what I would do would be to download one of those free operating systems from the internet (the ones that are literally free, not the pirated ones out there) and then install it on the computer through the optical drive. If my next computer comes with Windows 8, I will use it, but I wouldn't install an extra operating system in my computer when I already have one. Personally I think it's a waste of hard drive space, especially those beta OS's. The beta of anything never, ever works well. That's why I wait for the full versions to come out.

Did you see Andy Ihnako's review?

He's pretty reliable, and he says he likes it.

Has anyone had any luck on getting this to run on a VM? Both VMWare and VirtualBox are having issues trying to create an image.

Ihnako's review pretty much sums my own opinions up, albeit in far more detail. Metro is promising as a tablet interface, but if you end up bouncing between Metro and Aero the result feels schizophrenic.

All I know is that I will likely be skipping it, just like I skipped 95, ME and Vista.
