I know this is not the best place to ask this question, but I know the writers here are well-read and might be able to help.
I am looking for a short story, possibly by a Russian or Czech author, about a man who is afraid to walk across a cemetery. Finally his friends tease him enough or dare him, so he walks across the cemetary at night, ends up freezing to death because he stabs his cape into the ground with his sword but doesn't realize it.
Any ideas? Thank you. I am a teacher, trying to have my students read this one.
