Looking for a specific type of book

[Sorry if this is the wrong area, but I figure it's the closest I'll get]

I'm looking for police procedurals that follow patrol officers instead of detectives, like a book version of Southland or Adam 12. I've been searching high and low and can't find any for the life of me.

I dimly remember a patrol officer book from a while ago--it was Christian fic. If you're interested, I'll try to dig it up.

Tony Hillerman's novel series is close to what you seek. His character Jim Chee starts as a patrol officer in a Navajo reserve in the series.

I can recommend this from Lee Lofland. It's on my shelf. I've heard him speak a couple of times at Killer Nashville. Good, knowledgeable stuff.

I dimly remember that Faye Kellerman has written a recent book (a couple of books) in her Peter Decker/Rita Lazarus series that actually focuses more on Decker's daughter (Cindy?), who's a patrol officer for the LAPD.
