I searched around the internet and when I got to Amazon, my book had sold enough that only one was left in stock. I really don't get it. No one here seemed to enjoy it and they told me that no one I don't know personally would buy it. But on the other hand, I'm also very nervous about negative comments. Although I am rewriting the story and changing every little detail, I'm still worried about what readers will say about it.

Is that because your book is POD?

POD books are only printed when there's a paid order, so they always say "only 1 left in stock."

If I'm not mistaken, Amazon sometimes stocks 2 copies (or maybe they used to). So, if you self-pubs you might have sold at least one =-)

If you have a traditional publisher, Sheryl might be right--you might have sold lots.

Either way, good luck!

@Veinglory I checked Amazon and it said only one left in stock. It had to have. Why else would Amazon say that?

Because your book is a print on demand (POD) book. There are no copies in a warehouse.

That means someone orders a copy, and a copy is printed, and then shipped.

It's standard for POD books.

You know, I must have missed something and perhaps I just need to keep up with what's going on, but why are you selling your book on Amazon if you are rewriting it?

Sorry if this sounds rude; it's not meant to be.

@Jaksen Because so many people complained about it and how there were so many problems with it. So I decided to rewrite the entire thing into something that would more likely sell. In my new version, I cut out the orphanage and talking animals, as well as change the roles of the characters. Now Alyssa will live in a house with a cousin and tough uncle.
