Writer's block is a mental dead end, trying to find something that isn't there. The best way to find something is to not look for it and like magic it appears.
What works for me is watching a movie I don't really want to see. Your mind creates a natural battle with your patience to sit through a visual disaster and your imagination gets a jumpstart. Whether it helps your story or not isn't important, it's rejuvenating your creative thought process that matters.

About the block and breaking it

Hi!
This is interesting case. When it comes to me...well, I do some...writing. Or actually, copying. Oh yes. You read it exactly as I wrote it. Copying. I copy some articles from magazines, and save them to my computer and to a diskette too. Somehow, that process breaks the block cycle, even it sounds crazy.

Something I do sometimes, and it works wonders, even if it sounds a bit silly: I close my eyes and punch a random key on the keyboard, then I write the first word that comes to mind starting with that letter, and then I write a sentence that starts with that word. This sometimes makes for some very strange sentences, but it gets me writing again, and weird sentences can always be edited later.

Hi!
Your method sounds interesting, I must admit that. And when it comes to editing, yes..one can always edit the text later.
