can't find my reputation points

I went to my userCP to take a look at my rep points and they aren't shown there at all. I know as a new member I am supposed to start off with 10, will the numbers not show up until someone has actually given or taken some rep points to/from me? Or is there some sort of bug preventing me from seeing them?
