This post was sparked by a comment adktd2bks made in the 'What YA book are you reading RIGHT NOW' thread. She mentioned the book was predictable and she knew who the female MC would end up with the minute the guy was introduced. (I can't remember what book adktd2bks was reading at the time, so I'm not sure if there were 2 potential love interests, as per Edward & Jacob in Twilight or Daniel & Cam in Fallen.)
Do other readers find it a problem if the DLI is so obvious? Or is it expected that the DLI should be obvious?
One of the Beta readers for my ms mentioned she was wondering which guy my MC would end up with (I hadn't told her anything about the book) until the DLI came along chapters later and then she was rooting for him.
Anyway, just curious to know what other people think.
