Good morning girls and boys!

I am a newbie to these forums and I am excited to see that there is so much member participation!

At the moment I am working on an erotic/romance novel that I hope to publish in the e-book market or with print publishers within the United Kingdom. I am looking to find people who would run their eye over it and tell me what they think; character development and flow etc.

Anyone out there interested?

Regards,
Rea x :)

Look down the topic list to the Share Your Work section. Under that is a subtopic, Erotica. That's where we put work for critique or just reading.

But there's a catch. You can't get in without the password, which you can get from one of the erotica moderators. To get that, you need 50 or more posts, plus an assurance that you're over 21.

The 50 post rule is because some folks just sail in, get a critique on their stuff, and then sail away again without ever contributing to the forum.

Of course, any individual that reads your post might PM you privately about it. That's anyone's right.

You might also try the Erotica Readers and Writers Association, which you can join with an email to the list mods, and has no minimum post rule. But watch and learn before putting your stuff up.

Are you looking for beta readers or are you just going to post chapters on the SYW erotica forum?

If you post chapters keep in mind that the longer the post the less input you'll get back. Try and keep your posts short (1000 words).

If you're looking for beta readers (people who critique your entire manuscript) there's a forum for that. But I've read that it's usually wise to post a few chapters before seeking beta readers.

Good luck.

I'm going to throw out, just from being on other critique sites for a while, that the 50 post rule is probably a good thing for everyone involved.

From the forum's perspective, it does keep people from posting and waltzing away.

But from yours, it gives you a good opportunity to get to know the community and what to expect from a critique prior to posting.

I've seen dozens of writers wander into a community, not read any prior posts, ask for a critique, then freak out when it's not as expected. Getting to know the comm you're participating in (which will happen as you rack up those 50 comments) will help you to know whether you even *want* people who post here to critique your work.

My 2 cents. ;)

Yes, I expect that you are all right. It is good to have filters on these things, too. For example, spammers etc. I look forward to getting to know everyone here, as many of you seem serious about the art of erotica!

Yea, I joined and sat around getting my 50 posts. When I had that and was ready to post, I had realized I had no business posting in this place with these writers. Took many more posts before I posted something and even then it was a small snippet and it still was butchered in the most loving way :p The 50 post thing is good!
