hello. my name is tammy. i'm in the process of writing a book (novel/fiction). i joined water cooler to get advice, input, etc... im not sure if i will post my work on here or not. i also belong to a local writers group. my story is basically about a girl (Rene') who's family is killed and she moves on to start over. she finds a new friend, heroin addiction, new family, husband and in the end ......well im not saying that. :D

thank you. i love your quote "There are two kinds of people in the world. Those who believe the closet leads to Narnia, and those who fear what's in the closet." i belong to a writers group and it seems some of them, especially one, will not think outside the box. everything has to be correct politically correct. i have read so many books where the writer isnt that way. he writes from his heart and how he sounds. its not all perfect. i love those books. so i take their advice but its my book. i like to think outside the box and write how people think and read things and talk.

A word to the wise, (50 posts), it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.

wow!

thanks everyone! i belong to a writers group but i may find myself leaving it. so i am going to see whats what and read before i post anything. i have found that i like my version of my story better than my rewrite of it. the other sounds more liek me. its in first person present tense. where as it was f/p past tense. i could also make it third person so i cna include the other characters more.
