Not here, but there
I did a search and couldn't find one, but isn't there a list of YA Publishers around here?

Is there any new ones out there?

Cheering you all on!
There is a thread somewhere with some publishers that take unsolicited YA slush, but there aren't many.

However, you have an agent, right LMC? She could fill you in on that info.

Have you ever read Writer's Market? Try to find the latest edition. They list publishers by genre in the glossary.

I just did a post over on The YA Curator on "Who Publishes YA? A breakdown of Big Six Imprints, Mid-sized, and Small Presses". Here's the link: http://www.theyacurator.com/2012/06/who-publishes-ya-breakdown-of-big-six.html

Right now, it's just a list, but I'm going to do additional posts with details about popular titles, a short description of what kinds of books they look for, and whether or not they accept unsolicited submissions.

Thanks Rachael - that's a terrific summary list. I'm looking forward to your further posts on these. :)

Yup, deffinately cool! I'm following you now, so can't wait for more posts. I've focused so much on agents I feel like I don't know enough about the publishers side of things!

Tromboli - Thanks! Lots of people are sending me recs, so I keep having to add new ones for small and mid-sized. And I know what you mean. I recently got an agent (still squeeing!), and just realized, oh, I should really learn about publishers now.

The Children' Writers and Illustrators Market also lists YA publishers.

Entangled will take unagented submissions (I think for their YA line as well), but I highly recommend you do thorough research on the agenting proccess and writing queries before you send anything to anyone. Most publishers will not take unsolicited submissions.

This is so helpful - it must have taken ages to get all of this information together. Thanks so much for sharing your research with us, Rachael! :)
