My netbook every so often will find wifi and refuse to connect or display limited or no connectivity. This is usually at airports where other laptop users have internet (I ask one or two folks to check they arent doing something like writing, then realize I should give up and write)

ATM I'm living in a hotel again and would really like to connect. The wifi is full strength. But says limited or no connectivity.

Windows xp toshiba netbook.

It might be that your netbook doesn't support the channels the given WiFi station uses? This is particularly common if your netbook came from one country and you're using it in another.

Is it /seeing/ the connection and just being unable to connect, or is it unable to see the connection at all?

You might call the front desk and ask if they have any tips. They may know a lot about their system and common problems with their customers.

You might try this:-- Go to Start ---> Control Panel --->Performance and Maintenance (Administrative Tools). Select Services.

-- On the right, scroll to Wireless Zero Configuration and click to select it. Click Stop the service. Wait. Then click Start the service.

You could also try the Wireless Network Setup Wizard for the Repair Wireless Network Connection tool:

--Right-click the Wireless Connection icon in the system tray by the clock. Choose Repair and follow its instructions.

Just a couple of ideas. Oh, and do reboot if you haven't in a while. Good luck!

I had a similar issue with my laptop that had Vista and my home wireless. Then my router died and I had to order a new one. Problem disappeared. Turned out my hardware in the old router was too old for Vista.
