G'day, i'm haven't done a 'introduce yourself' since kindergarten so bare with me

I'm a 20 year old Aussie mum, and i love writing- when i have the time and my son isn't trying to steal my keyboard/pen/pencil.

My prefered genre is fantasy (there is so much to do with it!!) and at the moment i'm trying to write a sci-fi... while i've never read sci-fi books i'm a huge fan of sci-fi tv-shows and movies so i'm hopeful.

I'm hoping that i can find someone who i can bounce ideas and such off who wont get agitated because i wont be finished in 6 months- someone to tell me the ideas are plausible or not and make sure i make sense, maybe even help me out with ideas when i get stuck (i can write most the book and then somehow find a way to prevent myself to getting to the next part of the plot...), and someone who atleast pretends to understand that having a child means most of your 'free time' is not infact free. So if someone can help me out with that i'd appreciate it.

Now i will put forward here that while i try hard not to do it, i 'swear' in typical Aussie fashion (to me all curse words are just words and only you can give them power) and the word "bloody" is more of an exclaimation then a curse to me, so if i say something that offends you (for example: bloody hell) please just let me know and i'll put more effort into not doing so.

Take some time and read the Newbie Guide and the Stickies found

Welcome to AW. Hope you enjoy your stay with us.
How do you like your popcorn?

If you go to the bottom of the page to the ‘forum jump’ you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. Most of the SYW areas require the password of ….vista. A word to the wise, (50 posts), it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.

Welcome! Writing + child is not the easiest thing I guess. I am without children and don't have much work to do at the moment but nevertheless I'd never manage to finish my work in only a few months...

I think you'll find tons of help and advice here. There are sub-forums and threads for everything.

Hope to read more from you soon (to be honest, I'm too curious about reading Aussie-English ^^)

Welcome to AW, Purty, fellow mom! Glad to hear you're writing and yes, it is possible with children, though some time-crunching and a strict schedule is somewhat imperative. Best of luck with your endeavors and looking forward to seeing you in the forums.

Hello and welcome to the cooler,

Bloody hell mate, you need to find yourself a crit writing partner.... that will be there from the grounds up and from start to finish... That's what you need and best for them to be brutally honest with you too. Explore the forums and you'll come to the right threads that will certainly point you in the direction of finding such a person. Best of luck and hats off to you... for juggling both new baby and writing. Enjoy.
