Hello and a question

I just discovered/joined this forum and wanted to say hi. I am a biology PhD student in Brooklyn and have been writing short fiction for the last few years. Recently I have gotten into writing nonfiction (which I probably should have started years ago given how interested I've been in it).

To get the ball rolling a bit I wanted to ask the group a quick question.

When did you start writing? Have you been at it from a young age?

I wrote alot as a child and teenage but then got out of it in college, only picking up again (tentatively) about 8 years ago. It was a struggle to get back into it but now I'm comfortable with it again. Just curious about other people's experiences.

Interesting question. I started writing in something called an 'e-fed'. Basically, I roleplayed as a wrestler, and wrote my character in anticipation for a match. Whoever's character had the best roleplays during the week leading up to the match, would win.

Eventually I decided I wanted to try my hand at a novel. I was 21 at that time. I'm now 23 and I've finished my novel, and am in the querying stage!

I wrote my first story as a six-year-old. It was about a bumblebee. It was a pretty epic adventure, as far as my six-year-old self was concerned!

Anyway...I also wrote my first serious novel when I was 21, and now at 23, I'm entering the querying stage. Good luck to you as well, kkwrites!
