If a short story first appears in a podcast, audio only with no print companion, wouldn't the story have to be submitted only to markets that accept reprints?
Do you think it would be worth submitting it to a chosen market that doesn't necessarily accept reprints, but with the explanation in the cover letter that it was recorded as a podcast but has never been printed?
I'm thinking it would go to reprint markets, but that doesn't feel entirely right. Maybe a quick query to the preferred market asking if they would be interested in a story that had been podcasted but not printed?
How would you handle it?
Thanks in advance for your views and/or experience with this type of situation.
