I am new here (obviously) and am also fairly new to the world of being a writer. I actually wrote quite a lot when I was younger but when our kids were born I pretty much shelved my dream of being a writer, even though I kept puttering.
Now the kids are all grown and moved out so, with a great deal of encouragement from my wife, I have picked up the pen again and am working on a novel.
I found this site as I was browsing the web for advice, lurked for a while, then decided to take the plunge and join.
I am 43, married for 27 years, and have three kids, all of who are now in college or thier own jobs and homes. This site looks great and I look forward to learning and reading a BUNCH!!

A word to the wise, (50 posts), it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. Hi and welcome. How exciting to finally be in a position to go after your dreams. I hope you posts some of your work here. Can't wait to read what has been on the back burner all these years.

I had to laugh to myself when I read that you are 43 and all kids are out of the house. My husband is 42 and we have a 7 & 4 yr old.
