So here is the writing dilemma I am always up against. Im a novelist. Am told your writing makes me laugh out loud-literally was told this by and agent and editor- but i can't root for your main character- she's too mean. Do any other humor writers come up against this?
Any novels you can think of that do comedy and feeling for the characters well?
my book is kind of like youth in revolt. i liked that character...i know a lot of folks didn't.

Your description of your book sounds a lot like "The Instructions" by Adam Levin.

I haven't read the whole thing (It's a massive book) but what I have read pulls off the dichotomy of "youth in revolt" and "character I can root for" very well.

It's a funny read and is already winning some awards.

Well a good joke is always told at the expense of another. Could you clarify the dilemma a bit further?
