I've got a 12,000 word monster of a short story, and I've exhausted the very short list of markets listed on Duotrope.
Does anyone know of a market for this that may be eluding me? My story would probably best be described as literary fiction. It's about the mother of a disabled child. On a visit to Europe, she meets with an old flame, whose daughter is also disabled. There's a lot of reminiscence and just about zero action in it. It's meant to be thoughtful, and as such, I don't want to hack it down to half its word count to boost its sales potential.
I might post snippets of this once I pass 50 posts, but for now, any ideas?
