My mom (if she ever reads a part with curse words) would probably tell me to add more. I *rarely* let family members read what I write.

I've already told my parents that (unless I ask them to) they can't read anything of mine until after it is already published. That way they can't tell me to have less curse words and such.

ETA- Oh, and they can't talk to me about it unless I ask them to.

Morning. My parents usually can't read anything I write because they don't know english. Though I've done very quick translation of one short story...

My parents are always really supportive of my writing, although my mom isn't as discerning as my dad is. (I swear a 10 minute talk with this man has cleared up every major plotting problem I've ever had.) But I think that's because he also writes on the side.

My parents read MAAH. It is drowning in swearing. The only one who said anything was my mom, and all she said was "I'm not sure this term is historically accurate. You might want to replace it with ___."

Haha, awesome.

I haven't as of yet escalated my characters to serious cursing levels. Give it a couple of chapters.

Last time I tried telling my mom one of my story ideas, she tried to convince me to write a novel instead of a comic... Something about more people reading it that way.

Oh, and this is my 50th post, woo!

My go-to reference book for such things is THE SWEET FAR THING by Libba Bray. But that's mostly 'cause it's historical as well as terribly romantic.

Haven't read it yet. I'm working on it though! :D I got A Great and Terrible Beauty the last time I went to the library. This time I got both Rebel Angels and The Sweet Far Thing. I'm going to read them next.

THE SWEET FAR THING is my favorite. It's wonderful and beautiful and heartbreaking and funny and just SO SO GOOD.

And seriously. I put little post-its in so I could use it as a "this is how to write romance in historical fiction" guide. Aaaand then I loaned it to my sister's friend with the post-its still in... that was embarrassing. :tongue

I need to write reviews, but I want to read. *sigh*
I think I'll go read and then write reviews later.
