In 2007, a little known creature called a tardigrade became the first animal to survive exposure to space.

It prevailed over sub-zero temperatures, unrelenting solar winds and an oxygen-deprived space vacuum.
Totally bizarre! Wouldn't look out of place in a '70s Sci-Fi movie.

I thought a few years ago that some type of 'mold' was found that did the same thing. Is this it? I can't remember what it was called, but it was a long time ago.

Was I the only person who read the title as an imperative to tardigrades, that they should water bears in space?

Good thing I read the article linked. That living Hoover vacuum cleaner looks nothing like a bear needing watering. Makes more sense now. And while I saw this article's content before now, the post title is certainly eye-catching.
