How do I delete a post?

I searched but couldn't find the answer to this. I can edit posts but I can't figure out how to delete one entirely. Can someone walk me through it? Am I missing something really obvious? Thank you!

When you edit a post, there's an option to delete the post next to the "save" and "go advanced" buttons. Click on that.

If the post is within a thread, click Edit, and the Delete button is on the bottom right along with Save, Go Advanced, etc. If it's the starting post of a thread, though, you can't delete it yourself, and will need to ask a Mod to do it.

Worth noting, too, that if you started a thread with a post which you really wish you hadn't made (me, I don't post drunk--any more), you can edit it to remove all the text. I usually put in something like "Said too much" or "Changed my mind." Then nothing incriminating is there any more, and you needn't involve a mod.
