Howdy, everyone.

My friend and I are writing a Fantasy novel together, and we've come here for some advice. We've been working on it for a couple of years now (and when I say working I mean planning and procrastinating.), and we're up to chapter two at the moment. But don't worry, we're not as slow as we sound. The story has undergone many many rewrites and plot changes; it's only now that we're starting to really get into it.

I might as well ask a question while I'm doing this. Can some one please tell us if the 'Share Your Work' forum protects First Rights?

We look forward to posting and all that.

Welcome to AW Besh. Glad you're with us. Yes, as far as I know, just having entered any writing on this board (or any other for that matter) already qualifies as a protected copyright, especially when there's archives and such to back up claims. And to be perfectly honest, writers as a general rule, respect each other's work, and that is a very important theme here. So yes, your stuff is safe as far as we can make that claim. If I'm wrong, somebody please straighten ole' Tri out here.

Hiya Besh! Welcome to the Cooler. Like Tri says, anything you post in Share Your Work is safe and sound. The purpose of the forum is critique and that's pretty clearly stated there. If you want to be absolutely sure, then you can always remove your exerpt after comments on it have died down.

See you around the boards!

Hi, Besh and welcome!
How fun to have someone to write with. I wrote with my cuz for a while, but things have moved on since then. I do miss what we had going there for a while. I hope you and your partner work well together and have a lot of fun with it.
