Hello all,

I just finished a thorough edit of my second book and I'm in need of a Beta.

The theme is supernatural horror. At first glance it can be classed as a ghost story, but to do so would sell it short. The characters are split equally African American and Native American as am I, but this is NOT like the books that currently pass as black or indian fiction.

I seek a beta that isn't looking for the norm, and preferably partial to the prose of the greats: Blackwood, Bierce, Rhodes, Poe, the usual suspects. I am more than willing to be a Beta for your work in exchange. I have already had a beta read for the sake of plot cohesiveness and accuracy of research so now I seek one to comment on entertainment value and ease of read while I prepare it for query. If you can catch any missed copy-editing that would be a plus!

PM me or respond here. I graciously appreciate any and all interest. Thanks in advance!

Here
I used to be a really busy beta reader on here but have been away for a long while. Anyway, I came back the day before yesterday and am beta reading something for someone here at the moment, but I would be ready in approx a week, or a little less, for your work if you'd like me to look through it for you.

Sounds good. I'm doing my query research now and preparing my synopsis so if I don't have a beta by the time I'm done I'll PM you to see if the offer still stands.

Thanks for the response!

Thanks Portable.
I was thinking of going the self-publish route, but I'm getting such good feedback I thought: Why no try the dead-tree houses just to see how it goes.

I kinda think it's mean calling the big publishers dead-tree houses, but it's the approved lingo by us Indie-Writers, so go figure...
