I've just had an email from a colleague who's looking for a particular book and as it doesn't ring any bells with me, I thought I'd see if anyone hear can take a guess. This is what she's said:
It’s adult fiction, part of a series and based on dragons.
A boy and his father have a book that’s been passed down through the ages that lists all the different types of dragons and spells to kill them.
The dragons aren’t nice dragons but originally came from an island, the same where the boy and father originated from.
