Ever since I observed the Nintendo 3DS, it gave me an idea of making a 3D comic that doesn't require the reader to use 3D glasses in order to see the pictures pop out. I studied how you can turn your pictures into anaglyph images in Photoshop, but so far I see no depth or 3D, just confusing colors. If monitor screens that do it, then how can printed pictures do it without the glasses?

I don't think they can? I'm not very technically knowledgeable, but from my understanding the 3DS works by putting two little screens in front of each other, shaped so that each eye only sees a certain part of the picture, creating a 3D effect when the brain puts them together. (Somebody more techie than me, please feel free to improve upon this explanation!)

You could kinda-sorta fake a 3D look on printed comics by making objects in the background look slightly fuzzier than objects in the foreground, but truly 3D paper doesn't seem like a possibility so far.

Faking a 3D look could work depending on how good I can fool the eyes by making the background fuzzy. I will just have to try out experments and do more research on creating 3D effects on print. Thank you.

Maybe try reading up on stereographs and lenticular work? Main problem would likely be expense.

Are there any free softwares that can give your drawn pictures stereographs without the uses of 3D glasses? I heard that the new Toon Boom software can make animation 3D.

From what I read online about Toon Boom's Animate Pro 2, without glasses it's blurry. Page 4 of the how to pdf linked to here says:
In order to correctly see the final 3D image the viewer needs to use a 3D method of visualization that is a combination of projection technology and a pair of viewing glasses.
