rick, thanks for the kind thoughts, tho' I must confess surprise, I'm the unfunniest person I can think of, dour Scots blood don't y'know. Alas when I consciously try to write funny the result is akin to an overflowed toilet, it stinks big-time and ruins the carpets. I've received a fair number of emails from "fans" over the years that have made my inability to write humor quite plain, oh m-my yes. Bless you sir, bless you.

Might as well say this here as anywhere else, I'm doing the NaNoWriMo thing this month so I might not visit the AW board as often as I normally would. If I don't comment on script pages it's not because they're incredibly bad, it's just a time constraint thing (then again, I might just be using that as an excuse. 
).

That's the problem with staying Indoors all the time! You don't get to hear about these things. National Novel Writing Month, aka write a novel in a month (target is actually 50k words, but most writers I know are aiming higher). http://www.nanowrimo.org/ has all the details.

I like this quote from the NaNoWriMo website:
"Make no mistake: You will be writing a lot of crap. And that's a good thing. By forcing yourself to write so intensely, you are giving yourself permission to make mistakes. To forgo the endless tweaking and editing and just create. To build without tearing down."
Maybe the next time there's a contest in this forum we could do something like this. Give the participants a choice of genre and subject and see who could complete a feature length script in a month.
I know for myself I always work better when I have a deadline.
