Hello to all. After 15 years of teaching English in France and doing some translation work, as well as a short stint as a columnist for a French newspaper that went out of business...here I am. I'm interested in freelancing, business writing and translation if necessary. I am spending a lot of time on the web (too much?) and was interested in how many forums all of you people are in. This one looks good, I am thinking of settling down here. Looking forward to participating. bcinfrance

Hello and welcome. :hi:
I haven't been here long myself, but it's a great place! There's so much to learn... and so many excuses not to write the essay I should be writing right now. Right?

Behind you!
This is a fine place to settle down, bcinfrance. Pick a few acres that look good to you and stake your claim!

We're always pleased to welcome more writers to the site. It's great to meet you.

Maryn, apologizing for the conditon of the welcome mat

Thanks for the hellos

Thanks for all of the hellos. Since I'm not speaking that much to husband and family about all of my simmering writing ideas, it's great to have somewhere to talk.:hi:

Welcome

Welcome aboard. I was in Chateauroux, France for one and a half years. Wrote a short story about a little dog I brought back to the States. We called her "un-de-peu"

Bonjour! I know how to say hello but not welcome in French.

My French teachers would be dismayed. Ah, good thing I didn't major in French in college.

Have a great time here at AW! :)
