I was wondering who people write poetry for.
I was at a genre-based fiction workshop yesterday and one of the mystery writers commented that he writes for the blue-collared worker who keeps his book in his overalls back pocket. A person who wouldn't want to consult a dictionary to find out the meaning of an obscure word.
Do you (specifically) write to the everyday person? The literary type? Fellow poets? People with a certain interest (perhaps the old west)? Yourself? I was curious what flavors there are around here.
