Writing is only one facet of the art I enjoy, but I find it the most intimidating. It may be the easiest to fix, unlike a painting or photograph, but is the most difficult to perfect.

This is why I've joined AW. I know few people in my daily life who appreciate the fine line that an author or poet treads with the words they pen. And fewer people who know the type of support and advice that is needed when a manuscript is in the writing :)

So I have come searching! Hope I have found the right place :)

If you go to the bottom of the page to the ‘forum jump’ you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. Most of the SYW areas require the password of ….vista. A word to the wise, (50 posts), it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.

Take a wander around the various forums, there's lots to see and lots to learn, and even some fun threads too. Come along and pop on over to the Newbie Pub (at the top of the Newbie forum) and say hi, there's plenty of friendly faces that you can chat with and lots of banter. There's also the Question of the Day threads at the top of the Newbie forum where you can answer random questions.

Don't forget to read the newbie guide, and if you want to know what all the buttons mean check out this thread.

If someone could answer a question for me, I keep running into threads that seem to have a monthly theme? Or something along those lines. Is there anywhere that lists the themes, or monthly prompts? Sorry if this is listed somewhere, and I've managed to miss it!

Also, on the AW Calendar, why do some days have people's usernames on them? Are those just the days that have few enough birthday's to list names?
