I think sailing with wind is important thing when you start to write. As like real sailing, you can't move without wind; present atmosphere of books can make run on current time or trend in my thought.

I don't want remain at back. There is good old book like Alice in wonderland but learning old book isn't my time. I want to run powerfully now.

I'm learning english more than one year-started at late march / 2010. I hadn't any formal lesson. Instead of it, just started to read english book only with dictionary. My face of book reading was slow during that time. I want to boosting my book reading face with current books.

I like or have interest in genres which appear at thread name. Fantasy, Urban, Horror and Pulp noir. Do you recommend these books to me which was published in from 2011 to before you quote?

If you think my thread isn't adequate, Please send my thread to proper sub forum then send notice to me.

Books from 2011? That's very recent! Not that many books have even come out in the past three months. Can I include books from 2010 also? :)

Among Others, by Jo Walton
The House of Discarded Dreams, by Ekaterina Sedia
Who Fears Death, Nnedi Okorafor
Zoo City, Lauren Beukes

Kitty, this is not quite accurate. I work in the paperback department and for 2011 we have had, just in paperbacks alone, about 1200 new titles go through, of which over a 1,000 were fantasy. That's just paperback, not counting hard covers.

Math, bad. the fantasy titles are closer to 100 not 1,000. sorry. :(

Fair enough! The intersection of fantasy books I hear even a teensy bit of publicity about so I know that they even exist, books that are not really tired cliche quest-for-macguffin fantasies, and books that my library will order (no fantasy paperbacks, for some reason!) is awfully small.

Yeah not all libraries will carry all genres. I sort for Calgary public library, 17 branches, and several don't carry fantasy paperbacks. or westerns. they all carry mysteries and romances of course. lol
