Hi all! My name is Jacquelyn (Jacqui for short), and I'm from Toronto, Canada. I've been writing fantasy novels in my spare time for about 10 years, and I'm finally going to be getting some of my work out there via Amazon KDP, Smashwords, and maybe Lightningsource down the road.

I usually have a hard time coming up with ideas that are contained enough for a short story, but last year I somehow placed third in the Writers' Journal Fiction Contest (which I had completely forgotten I had entered by the time I found out).

Anyway, I've been looking for a way to connect with other writers, and this seemed like a pretty robust forum. Looking forward to meeting everyone! :D

A word to the wise, (50 posts), it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. It certainly is busy here. I love forums (fora?) where you can post a question and you know it will be answered really quickly because of how busy the place is!

Take a wander around the various forums, there's lots to see and lots to learn, and even some fun threads too. Come along and pop on over to the Newbie Pub (at the top of the Newbie forum) and say hi, there's plenty of friendly faces that you can chat with and lots of banter. There's also the Question of the Day threads at the top of the Newbie forum where you can answer random questions.

Don't forget to read the newbie guide, and if you want to know what all the buttons mean check out this thread.
