Hi, I'm Daphne. I've been lurking on the boards for the past few weeks while I've been researching publishers for my manuscript, and thought that I'd introduce myself.

I've been writing novels for several years but am as-yet-unpublished. A couple of years ago I got my Master's in Writing Popular Fiction from Seton Hill. I decided to do the program primarily to improve my writing, and it worked. Totally. :)

I'm now submitting the book that I wrote during that program. I've gone through the list of agents that I put together, and am starting to submit to publishers. (Thus my extensive research on the Bewares, Recommendations and Background board.)

At the moment I'm writing Urban Fantasy.

I lurk a lot, but will try to chime in from time to time. Nice to meet you all. :)

If you go to the bottom of the page to the ‘forum jump’ you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. Most of the SYW areas require the password of ….vista. A word to the wise, (50 posts), it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.

Take a wander around the various forums, there's lots to see and lots to learn, and even some fun threads too. Come along and pop on over to the Newbie Pub (at the top of the Newbie forum) and say hi, there's plenty of friendly faces that you can chat with and lots of banter. There's also the Question of the Day threads at the top of the Newbie forum where you can answer random questions.

Don't forget to read the newbie guide, and if you want to know what all the buttons mean check out this thread.

Thanks everyone! Sorry for not replying sooner. Things are extremely busy in the Day Job. :p

I was going to ask what SYW was but then a few posts down someone else said Share Your Work, so I'm assuming that's SYW -- right? I will check out those areas and the Newbie Pub and other threads. I think I saw a reference to a list of acronyms--I should probably take a look at that, too, LOL.
