My precious laptop is going back to Sony for repairs on Friday, so I want to back up everything on it.
I have a Seagate external Hard Drive, which till now has worked fine. So I connected it and a window came up by which I selected a general backup of everything. A new window opened and I saw that thingee by which they show you that files are being transfered. It was obvious it would take a long time so I left it at that and went out of the house for a few hours.
When I got back, I had a message on screen saying the backup had failed.
Since then I have tried and tried again, but it's not working. At first I clicked on the button that says backup everything (r something similar) but now even that option is missing from the window that pops up when I connect the device.
Of course, I could go to every single item on the laptop and save it seperately. But obviously I don't want to do that. I want to fix the damn thing!
I've tried calling Seagate but the don't seem to have a number for the UK. I also logged into their forum but there is practically no activity there.
What can I do? Somthing seems broke...
I just want back that option that allows me to transfer everything, and try again.
ANyone got any suggestions?
