I’m looking for a beta reader for my 78,000 word YA science fiction novel. This story follows Alan Jennings, who happily leads a predictable and uneventful life as an apprentice with the Scientist Trade He lives within the safe confines of New City, a refuge for survivors of the apocalypse. When sinister governmental forces focus on Alan, he embarks on a strange journey across a once prosperous land, which frighteningly mirrors our own world. While Alan searches for any vestige of life outside the city walls, he meets strange mutations and magical characters, he discovers enchanted places and foreign civilizations, and he ultimately faces his past and addresses his own shortcomings.
I need a brutally honest critique of the whole novel. If anyone is interested in reading the whole thing or even just the first few chapters, please let me know.
