Question 1 - I know there's a thread somewhere that describes all the rep levels - where is it hiding?

Question 2 - I can't remember, but in that thread does it also explain why you might get 2, 3, or 4 points on a post (I know it does for reps from mods, but ...)?

If this is stickied somewhere, I'm going to feel dumb 'cause I did look for the thread. I sometimes refer to the post and if I can't find it ... Thanks a bunch whoever has the answers to the questions above. Puma

For the reputation levels see this thread. There are other threads around on rep points. If you search for Rep Points, put the Rep Points in between " " and it should help with the search a bit e.g. "Rep Points"

As for how many rep points a user can give out. It may have something to do with how long you've been a member and how many posts you have, along with Mac upping the rep level of members at random and on a whim. :D

In the "old" days, most user reps were worth one point - from what you put in the FAQ, it appears they're now worth 2 - that correct?

Is there anything definite on when reppers have enough posts or reputation to move to 2, 3, or 4 point givers (I haven't seen more than a 4 point from anyone other than a mod)?

New members give one; most of the current members give 2, in terms of percentage of current members.

People can give an additional point for every thousand days they've been a member.

They can give an additional point for every ten thousand points they have.

And of course this too is subject to Mac's whim.

My eyes are so swollen today with allergies that I really can't see.

Is the type on that FAQ to large for most people? I mean, I'm afraid I've made it freakishly large, and I'll change it if I need to.

It is a bit large.

The size you used on What Do Those Icons Means would probably be better.

I don't get it. Do you get something if you have lots of rep points? a cookie or something? It seems since no one can see your rep points, the "points" really don't mean anything.

Oh, I think some people like getting to 100 or 1000. After that, the actual number of reps loses its interest for most people.
