I have a picture book manuscript all ready to go to a certain publisher (yes, they accept unsolicited, unagented manuscripts for picture books). They ask for a cover letter and a resume. Other than my writing credits, I don't know what I should put in the resume. Should I mention the writing workshops I've taken? The writers who gave them are well-known in this region, but I don't know if the publisher would know them or not. Do they want to know my education level? (2 years of univerisy Arts & Science). What would normally go in such a resume?

Hi rekirts,
Sorry I missed this post--publishers are interested in your writing resume, and if you have expertise in the topic you've writte about, include that, too (for example, if you've written a nf picture book about plants and you're a botanist, all the better). If you've attended a very prestigious writing workshop (like the Iowa Writers' Workshop or Breadloaf in the US), that's fine to include, but don't bother including anything that is regional or wouldn't be known by most general publishers.
Good luck!
