I just found out about this event www.philcon.org ? I admit it, I've never been to a SF/F convention. This one is in Philly.
I'm trying to get in to do a signing, and the kids programmer may want me to do a reading of Talisman.

Just wondering if any AW'ers were going so I could meet some of you :) I already met Diana at the Collingswood Book Festival (she's wonderful, BTW) and want to add to my "Hey, I met them" list.

I wish, I went to Conglomeration in Louisville KY once a couple years ago. Loads of fun. There were people like ME! And people who were in the place I wanted to be as far as writing that I could learn from. My husband and I might go again next year, as I have family in Louisville, or we might go over to the con in Atlanta, we missed this year. HAve fun!

I withdrew my support for such frivolity this year when they refused to see the sense of renaming it the "Rabe Philcon".

Would have definitely drawn a crowd then! ;)

What a nice thing to say! Thank you, Christine. You're wonderful too.

I was seriously considering going to Philcon before the business with Behler blew up in my face. I fear my book promotion this year will end at the Delaware Book Fair on Nov. 5. I hear Philcon is a good event. Good luck!

I still don't know if I'm going to that Delaware thing, Di. I called them and she said they try to fill all their slots with Delaware authors first, but if they have spaces left they'll call me, no later than next week.

Huh, that's weird. I guess they let me come without question because I've been doing it for a few years now. They must be getting a bigger author turnout then usual this year. Well, hopefully, they will give you a call. It's a fun event, not as big as Collingswood, but sizeable, and the State of Delaware buys the authors' lunch. :)

Hi Diana. :hi:

I live in NJ too so these are both great possiblities for me. I haven't done the convention circuit in awhile but the timing looks goos so far. I must investigate further!

Is there a website about the Delaware Fair? I found an article about it, but the schedule says 2003! :Hammer:

Any info is much appreciated!

The phone number for the Delaware Heritage Commission is 302-744-5077.

They hold the event at the Delaware Agricultural Museum in Dover. It's pretty cool as they set the authors up in front of the exhibits. There's an old house from the 1600's, a crop duster, and all the antique farm equipment you can imagine. This year the event is Sat. Nov. 5.
