Greetings All

Thought I'd posted here already but can't find it so I guess I haven't. That being said:

I'm a new writer. At least as far as novels go. I've written 'localized' articles but this venture into the world of publishing is new. Kinda scary at times....lol

I live in Middle Tennessee, have completed two novels in the thriller/suspense genre. My first, 'Black Kayak' is an 84,500 word thriller that is currently under agent contract. I've had 22 people read the full manuscript and could not have asked, or even dreamed of, the 100 percent positive responses I have been fortunate enough to receive.

My second novel, 'Hands Untied' is an 89,600 word suspense/thriller. I completed the manuscript about three weeks ago and just finished the 'self-editing' phase. It is now ready for agent presentation.

I am also 21,000 words into the sequel to Black Kayak. Both novels are the beginning of a series. The sequel is entitled 'Painful Request'.

I have accomplished this in fourteen months and two weeks. Starting from Chapter One, Page One of 'Black Kayak'. With funds being tight, I purchased books on how to get published and devoured them. I have spent hundreds of hours on the Internet, researching everything.

I learned to keep a legal pad and pen bedside because it's uncanny how many ideas I come up with in my sleep. After knowing I had dreamed something then not being able to remember it in the morning, I figured it out....duh.....

Anyway I plan on spending a lot of time on this site. As my 'handle' refers, I'm new. So far the only advice I can offer is: NEVER GIVE UP.

Thank you all for the welcome. At the moment I'm having a 'war' with the local internet provider so I have to use the library or friend's houses. Hope to have that rectified at some point in the 21st century.

I have spent way too much time in the past on both offshore boating forums and Corvette forums (I own a 65'). I try to check this site out every time I'm on the Internet.

There is so much to be learned that sometimes I start feeling like I'm getting "learn overload"....lol Seriously, I have learned long ago to take what everyone says and search for wisdom and/or help in what they might have to offer.

I thoroughly enjoy my writing. It's where I can go to escape the reality of 'real life'.

I just received my 'edited' manuscript with some slight revisions and will begin rewriting that tomorrow. I hope to have that finished by midweek, then it's back on the agent.

I'm now two/thirds finished with the sequel, 'Painful Request', to my first novel, 'Black Kayak' and have sketched the basic idea out for the sequel to my second novel/series, 'Hands Untied'.

Unfortunately I still have to 'work' and that really gets in the way of writing....lol
