I don't think you understood the procedure then, because you've been logged in the entire time.
1. Log off by clicking the Log off link at the top right of AW.
2. Delete your AW Cookies.
3. Quit the browser.
4. Log back in again.
If waiting the hour it may take for the script that updates users to run is so detrimental to your health, your peace of mind as a writer is likely to be fractured on a daily basis. Writing and publishing is all about the wait.

Give the system a little time to catch up with you, CC. If you aren't in by tomorrow, just clear your cookies and log back in. It should work then.
The script that pokes User classifications runs about once an hour.
I'd go ahead and log off
Delete AW cookies
Quit your browser
Restart your browser
Log back in.
