Hi everyone,

I'm VERY new to screenwriting, and I was wondering if anyone is taking part in the Script Frenzy challenge this year? I think it's going to be a great way for me to write out my first short film idea.

I did it last year, and it's great fun. Don't know whether I'll be in this time, because of work on other things, but I'm sure I'll be tempted once we get closer to April 1.

BTW, remember the challenge is 100 pages, so if you're doing shorts, you might need to write more than one script.

This thread will be a good place to announce an open invitation to the NaNoWriMo and Beyond section of AW, where I'll be spending all month preparing for Script Frenzy.

So anyone here considering doing Screnzy could make me happy by popping down to the MarNoWriMo thread in the NaNo section and joining in the fun of working to a deadline.

I started my outline for my movie today, and I'm very excited about it. I'd love to have more script writers in that thread to share the specific trials and tribulations with.

:)

Go on, you know you want to check it out. ;)

Awesome, thanks so much for letting me know! I'm very excited about April 1! And Enzo, thanks so much for the tip on the page count--I will definitely make the decision sooner rather than(then? It's been a long day!) later as to whether I'll write two short films, or expand my short film idea into a feature film.

haha Thanks Cliff--I had been at the computer for so long I was starting to go cross-eyed--it's amazing how the simple things tend to roll right out of your head once you've been working long enough, *snorts.

Yeah, I usually have trouble with "vacuum" - is it 1 c or 2? *headdesk*

You'd be amazed how often I wind up using the word vacuum... I don't know why, but it just crops up every so often.

And being tired certainly doesn't help matters one bit. ;)

This will be my first year doping Script Frenzy. I've been focusing on my fiction and non-fiction writing for the past few years and want to use this as a way to jump back into script work. I'm spending this month outlining my story and thinking about the characters as well as reaquainting myself with script format.

I'm in the midst of a script right now, that I'm trying to tighten up enough to enter in the Page International Comp. Don't know if I'll want to dive into another new script April 1st. But, maybe I will!

I'm in. I'll be attempting 2 TV length scripts. Hopefully I'll actually finish rather than just start this year.

Can we post our SF usernames in here once it's begun?

I going to give it a shot this year. I have a screenplay that I am working on and this would allow me to "finally" get serious and write. It should be fun!

As the start date approaches, I'm starting to get chest pains, LOL! I still haven't finished my character outlines (just little notes to make sure I keep my characters consistent throughout the process), or my settings. This month really knocked me on my ass in terms of how much work I've had to do for my to-pay-the-bills job, but I still feel confident that I'll be fully prepared come April 1. Eeeek!

Here is a link to my Script Frenzy profile if you want to start linking up!

I'm so excited! As you can tell by all the exclamation marks! :)

I'm also doing Script Frenzy and looking forward to it. I'm adapting a novel idea I've been working on for almost a year. I'd love some writing buddies over there so feel free to add me. My username is cornflakegirl.

I'm definitely in tomorrow. Writing the pilot and episode 2 of a European-based crime show. Over the past few weeks I've been working on its bible and synopsis, and practicing on what I call my 'Liam Neeson action script' and 'Bradley Cooper comedy script' to get back into script writing.
My thriller novel WIP will still be continuing in the background, each day after I finish about 4 pages for the Frenzy.
